Deity PR-2ii 32-Bit Float Audio Recorder
Description
The PR-2 is a portable Tru32™ Bit Float Dual ADC recorder designed as a wearable first but with expanded functionality that broadens its reach into the field recorder and plant recorder use. The original PR-2 was already the leader in this category. The PR-2ii improves upon its predecessor with improved sound quality, continuous wireless timecode, industry leading battery quality and WAV File Recovery.
PR-2ii is a wearable-first recorder built for videographers, small crews, and creators who cannot afford to lose audio due to wireless signal issues. It combines Tru32™ Bit Float Dual ADC recording technology, a new cleaner dual-ADC preamp, 20+ hours of battery life, wired and wireless timecode, and Sidus Audio control in one pocket-sized tool.
Better sound, from first take to final mix
PR-2ii’s dual-ADC preamp architecture delivers lower self-noise and greater dynamic range, helping quiet dialogue stay detailed while sudden loud moments remain recoverable in Tru32™ Bit Float Dual ADC. You get more usable audio on the first take, and more room to shape it in post.
With an internal-recording dynamic range of 124 dB or higher and an EIN rated at -117 dBV (A-weighted, 36 dB gain, 150 ohm source), PR-2ii captures cleaner, more detailed sound across demanding production environments. The improved preamp performance carries into both stereo 24-bit and mono Tru32™ Bit Float Dual ADC workflows.
Steady writes. Recoverable files.
When the recorder is hidden on talent or planted out of reach, an interrupted file can turn into an expensive reshoot. Built-in PSRAM buffers audio on its way to the card, evening out differences in write speed so PR-2ii works with a wider range of microSD cards.
If a recording is interrupted unexpectedly or a file gets corrupted, power PR-2ii back on: it finishes writing the WAV file footer and recovers the file.
Built for the conditions behind the shot
Recorders are often placed where the operator cannot constantly protect them: hidden under wardrobe, planted inside a vehicle, mounted on a camera rig, or working outdoors. PR-2ii’s IP54 rated enclosure helps resist dust and splashes so the recorder can keep working through changing weather, sweat, and the everyday abuse of location production. A new rubber gasket seal has also been added around the battery compartment.
A tougher 6H tempered-glass screen cover and button-based controls create a stronger face than the previous model.
Wireless timecode support
Keep sound and picture moving together without rebuilding your sync workflow around the recorder.
PR-2ii can receive wireless timecode from the Deity timecode ecosystem and wired timecode through its 3.5mm connection. The PR-2ii falls in line with the rest of Deity's timecode ecosystem:
