Simplify balancing your camera and studio lighting, make quick color adjustments, and assess your studio lighting conditions. The 3-strip ColorChecker Grayscale reproduces the white, 18% gray at reflectance, and black values of the 24-patch ColorChecker Classic on a single chart in large format. Use it to capture accurate color before your photoshoot or film shoot, saving you time and effort.
In the field, use it as the first reference in a series of photos or your videos to instantly correct the image color by balancing the middle gray value. In the studio, use it to evaluate exposure and balance between key and fill lights to quickly set up the right lighting and to define white balance. The 3-band ColorChecker Grayscale target also provides reference values for adjusting colors in most image editing software, allowing you to make color corrections quickly.
The chart is scientifically engineered to provide a uniform, precise, spectrally neutral surface (i.e., it reflects equal amounts of red, blue, and green) under any light source.
